Google released Android 14 last year. This new operating system brought significant innovations, especially in terms of privacy. With the focus now shifting to Android 15, the first preview version was released in the past few hours. As expectations continue to rise, the eagerly anticipated new notification feature coming with Android 15 has emerged.

What will the Notification Waiting Time feature, to be introduced with Android 15, be used for? Known by its Vanilla Ice Cream code name, Android 15 will be ready for use with the Beta 4 update to be released in July. As the countdown has begun for this, the Notification Waiting Time feature coming with Android 15 has surfaced.

What will the Notification Waiting Time feature, to be introduced with Android 15, be used for? According to the information provided, when multiple notifications are received from an application within a short period of time on phones running Android 15, a feature called “Notification Waiting Time” will come into play. This feature will gradually decrease the sound and vibration levels of sequentially incoming notifications, preventing the user from being disturbed.

How to install Android 15 Developer Preview?

The first developer preview of Android 15 is now available for various Pixel phones. So, how to install Android 15 Developer Preview?

The Notification Waiting Time feature can be turned on and off at the user’s discretion. This innovation may particularly prevent the distraction caused by notifications for every new message in active chat groups.

When consecutive notifications from the same application stop, the notification sound level will automatically return to the normal level. For example, if you receive five notifications in a row from an application, the sound level of these notifications will be gradually reduced. After a while, if notifications are received from the same application again, they will be at the normal sound level.

You can control this feature in Android 15 as follows:

Step 1: Open the Settings app.

Step 2: Tap on “Notifications.”

Step 3: Scroll down a bit and tap on “Notification Waiting Time.”

Step 4: Check one of the options “Apply waiting time to all notifications,” “Apply waiting time to conversations,” or “Do not use notification waiting time.”

This feature may become more useful in the future. What are your thoughts on this? You can share your opinions with us in the Comments section below.
