The feature, which detects other devices nearby via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or NFC connection, allows users to securely share content. It should be noted that Nearby Share, which also exists on iPhones under the name AirDrop, is not very popular. Despite this, it surprised users with an unexpected rumor that emerged recently.
According to a claim that has emerged in the past hours, the name of the Nearby Share feature will be changed to “Quick Share”. It is not known why Google will make such a change. Samsung, the South Korea-based smartphone manufacturer, also offers users a feature that serves the same purpose. Moreover, its name is “Quick Share”. For this reason, Google has created a question mark in minds.
Of course, it should be noted that this is just a claim. Google may offer this change for all users with the updates it will release in the coming periods. In this context, it seems that there is nothing to do but wait for now.
In addition, according to a recent news report, Google Play Movies and TV, one of the most popular Google services, will be retired in January 2024. As a result, Google Play Movies and TV will no longer be available on Android TV devices or through the Google Play website.
