Xiaomi is preparing to expand its foldable phone lineup with a new model, the Mix Flip 2, which has been listed for pre-order on Xiaomi Mall, indicating that its official launch is just around the corner. Xiaomi Group President and Partner Lu Weibing has eliminated all doubts about the phone’s launch date with a statement on Weibo.

According to Weibing, Xiaomi has listened to users’ demands for a larger battery, a less noticeable crease, and better heat dissipation. He stated that they have been conducting R&D in these areas for three years and are now focused on delivering a full-fledged flagship experience so that compact foldables are no longer seen as “stylish but impractical.”
The Mix Flip 2 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The main display will reportedly be a 6.85-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with approximately 1.5K resolution, and it will also feature a more functional 4.01-inch curved cover screen on the outside.
The device’s durability is ensured with a high-strength hinge structure and materials that have passed military-grade drop tests. Additionally, there will be special design and color options aimed at female users.
The Mix Flip 2 is expected to support IPX8 water resistance, 50W wireless charging, and a total battery capacity of around 5,050 mAh, with support for 67W wired fast charging. On the software side, it will run HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15, and it will feature a dual Leica camera system: a 50 MP main sensor (1/1.5″ in size) and a 50 MP ultra-wide lens.
