The new multi-device feature is expected to make it easier for users to access their WhatsApp accounts from various devices, without having to constantly switch between them or log in and out repeatedly. As you know, you could previously connect your WhatsApp account to only one phone. For example, if the internet connection of your primary device was disconnected, you could not connect to WhatsApp Web from your computer. Connecting phones to shared devices makes messaging easier. Now you can switch between phones without logging out and continue your chats where you left off.
To ensure security, WhatsApp has implemented end-to-end encryption for all devices connected to the account. This means that all messages and media sent and received will be encrypted and can only be accessed by the account owner. Also, if the primary device is inactive for 14 days, WhatsApp will automatically log out of other devices.
