Acer executive targets 2024 for Windows 12 launch
According to reports in Taiwanese media, preparations for the new version of Windows are complete. Microsoft will introduce Windows 12 in June 2024. Acer Chairman Junsheng Chen and Quanta Computer founder Barry Lam are reported to support this claim.
According to Taiwanese sources, both industry executives expect Windows 12 to be released next summer. Although Microsoft has not yet made an official announcement for Windows 12, a date like 2024 could be quite early. Windows 10, for example, was introduced in 2015 and Windows 11 in 2021.
According to previous leaks, Microsoft will emphasize artificial intelligence features in its new operating system. It will even launch a new experience on the desktop by supporting integrated AI solutions in new processors such as Intel Core Ultra.
In addition, information that emerged a while ago revealed that Microsoft may switch to a subscription-based system. The subscription version in the Canary codes revealed the phrases defined as “Device-Based Subscription” and “User-Based Subscription”.
Microsoft has not confirmed its plans for Windows 12. However, these claims coming from Acer and Quanta Computer aroused curiosity.
