Activision removes Modern Warfare’s popular mode so you play the new game!

Ana sayfa / News

Activision created a huge controversy among players by shutting down the popular Modern Warfare mod. This mod, called H2M, offered players a nostalgic experience by adding new maps and weapons to Modern Warfare Remastered. However, the mod’s popularity grew so fast that Activision decided to stop the project.

The H2M mode was designed to bring back classic content from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009). The mode was supposed to integrate old maps and weapons into Modern Warfare Remastered. However, due to legal intervention by Activision, the project was halted before release. Watchful Wolf, one of the team developing the H2M mod, stated that they had to shut down all servers after receiving the cease and desist letter sent by Activision.

The main reason behind Activision’s move was the overlap between the release date of Black Ops 6 and the release date of the mod. Watchful Wolf said that Activision was concerned that the mod could negatively impact Black Ops 6’s sales. The rapidly growing popularity of the H2M mod seems to have forced the company to make this decision.

Watchful Wolf said it would stop making mods for Call of Duty after the mod was canceled. Instead, the team plans to focus on developing their own games. H2M and the previously shuttered SM2 mod teams are considering coming together to work on a joint project. However, no clear statement has been made on this subject. For now, it remains unclear what the future holds.
