Adobe has released a new app for its cloud-based mobile design platform, Adobe Express. This app brings the creative editing and Firefly-supported AI features, already enjoyed by desktop users, to iOS and Android devices.
Adobe Adds Firefly AI Tools to Adobe Express Mobile App for iOS and Android
The new Adobe Express app simplifies the creation of creative assets such as social media posts, posters, and website banners. Creative Cloud members can access and edit Photoshop and Illustrator files directly within the mobile app.
The Adobe Express beta app is available for free download. Premium features, including Firefly-supported Generative Fill and Text to Image effects, are offered at no additional cost during the app’s testing phase.
Price of Adobe Firefly Features
Adobe has not yet announced when the app will be available for general use, but these premium features will later be available with a subscription starting at $9.99 per month. The beta version of the app allows you to use the same Firefly AI tools as the desktop version.
App Accessibility and Usage
The Adobe Express mobile app beta is available on the Google Play Store for Android, but iOS users need to register due to Apple’s restrictions on the number of beta users. The processing of Firefly AI features is cloud-based, so not every smartphone is compatible with the new beta.
Adobe’s Firefly AI features have been available as independent web apps since September 2023 and are usable on mobile devices but not adequately suitable for design workflows. The new Express beta is the first mobile app to include these features along with other design tools.
