Adobe has officially released its new camera app, Project Indigo, for iPhone users. The app, offered by the company’s research and development unit Adobe Labs, offers advanced control and AI-powered features for both professional users and amateurs interested in mobile photography.
Adobe has launched its camera app for iPhone
Project Indigo, which can be downloaded for free from the App Store, draws attention with its fully manual settings and high-quality image production. The app combines these frames by shooting multiple frames instead of a single frame, thus offering high-resolution JPEG and DNG photos with lower noise, wide dynamic range.
In the mode optimized especially for night shots, users can manually determine the number of frames to be combined and the capture time. In addition, a special mode has been included in the application to create a motion blur effect with long exposure in images taken with a tripod.
Project Indigo offers the user basic settings such as shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation and white balance manually. The application provides simultaneous output in JPEG and DNG formats. With the multi-frame super resolution method, details lost during digital zoom can be restored.
In addition, images taken with its structure that works directly integrated with the Adobe Lightroom mobile application can be sent for editing instantly. Project Indigo is compatible with iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 14 and iPhone 15. However, Adobe recommends using iPhone 15 Pro and above models for the best performance.
