Adobe focused on artificial intelligence this year at its annual Max conference.The company unveiled a number of new features, including Firefly, an AI-powered video creation model. Here are the announcements made at Adobe Max 2024.
What was introduced at the Adobe Max 2024 conference?
For those who don’t know, Firefly allows Premiere Pro users to create and extend video clips with text commands. Features such as Generative Extend, image-to-video and text-to-video are available in beta.
Adobe said it has addressed concerns about its earlier use of user data to train artificial intelligence models. It emphasized that Firefly is not trained on user content. The company aims to make AI tools safer for commercial and professional use.
In addition to new AI features, Adobe has updated key apps in its Creative Cloud suite. The automatic background removal tool in Photoshop can now remove distractions like cables or people with a single click. Illustrator can now organize objects with Objects in the Path.
Project Neo, a 3D design app in beta, uses artificial intelligence to create 3D designs from 2D drawings. Real-time lighting and shadow adjustments are an important part of the tool.
Adobe also showcased experimental projects in development. It shared concepts such as removing glare or overexposed areas in images, automatically adding audio to videos based on scene analysis, and verifying content ownership.
