Qualcomm is preparing to expand its Snapdragon X family for the PC market. The company announced that it will announce the new Snapdragon X model at the IFA 2024 conference on September 9. This processor is expected to be the 8-core Snapdragon X Plus.
Snapdragon X Plus will be introduced at IFA on September 9
The new chip, dubbed Snapdragon X1P-42-100, will debut at IFA 2024 in the coming days. According to leaks, the ARM-based processor with 8 CPU cores is aimed at entry-level gaming laptops. It is even rumored that the first computer will be priced around 700 dollars.
The Snapdragon X1P-42-100 will have a less powerful integrated GPU compared to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X1 chips. But it won’t hold back on gaming capabilities. It promises graphics performance of up to 1.7 TFLOPS with the Adreno GPU.
In artificial intelligence tasks, it will offer the same 45 TOPS processing power as other Snapdragon X processors. The Snapdragon X1P-42-100 will also support the connection of up to three external 4K displays at 60Hz refresh rates.
Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon also previously said that they will introduce Snapdragon laptops priced around 700 dollars.
