Tesla has been in the spotlight recently with its affordable electric car project. It was previously rumored that this project, confirmed by Elon Musk, had been canceled. The official statement regarding the new Tesla vehicle, expected to be priced around $25,000, came from Elon Musk.
Elon Musk: Tesla is developing a $25,000 car
Tesla CEO Elon Musk denied the allegations that the $25,000 car plans had been shelved. A Reuters report, based on internal messages, claimed that Tesla had canceled its affordable model. However, Musk refuted the claim, stating on X, “Reuters is lying again.”
Despite Musk’s denial, Reuters claimed that the internal messages were sent by Musk himself. Reuters even stated that he held meetings with numerous employees to cancel the affordable Tesla.
The $25,000 Tesla model has become one of the company’s most important plans in recent months. Musk said this model is planned to start production at the Berlin and Austin Gigafactories. The vehicle, set to enter mass production by the end of 2025, will challenge competitors like BYD.
Musk’s denial indicates the company’s desire to increase competition in the electric car market. Despite the competitive price of the Model 3, it’s worth noting that the company achieved its lowest delivery numbers since 2022 in the last quarter.
According to research conducted in the US, the average price for a new vehicle has reached around $44,000, with electric cars averaging over $50,000. This indicates a growing need for affordable electric vehicles.
