Apple’s long silence in the wireless headphone market is poised to be broken with an exciting innovation. The company, which hasn’t released a new high-end model since the AirPods Pro 2, introduced in 2022, will release the AirPods Pro 3 in 2025, according to Bloomberg’s reliable source, Mark Gurman. The new model’s most striking feature will be its health tracking capabilities.
AirPods Pro 3 Revolutionizes Health in Headphones: Heart Rate Sensor
According to leaked information by Mark Gurman, the AirPods Pro 3 comes with a key piece of hardware that will allow for deeper integration into Apple’s health ecosystem: a built-in heart rate sensor. This feature will activate automatically and, when activated, utilize the LED optical sensors in the earbuds.
These sensors will send hundreds of signals per second to precisely measure the user’s heart rate and instantly transmit all data to the Apple Health app. This innovation will transform AirPods from a music accessory into a practical health tracking device, especially for exercise. The innovations in the AirPods Pro 3 won’t be limited to health features. Apple is expected to further enhance the sound quality and industry-leading active noise cancellation (ANC) performance in the new model. Other expected improvements include increased battery life and minor tweaks to the existing design.
Considering that Apple introduced the previous model in September 2022, September is the most likely launch date for the AirPods Pro 3. The company is expected to create significant excitement in the tech world by also unveiling its next-generation wireless headphones at its annual iPhone launch next month.
