Apple has released new software for AirPods with the iOS 26 update. This update, available for the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4, is version 8A356. The update adds many new features to AirPods.
AirPods Models Will Receive Improvements
With the update, AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 offer higher-quality audio for phone calls and video calls. They also support studio-quality audio recording for interviews, podcasts, and videos. Users can now use their AirPods as a remote to take photos or record videos through the Camera app.
Among the new features is auto-pause. If you fall asleep while listening to music, your AirPods will pause the music. When the earbuds’ battery is low, the user will receive a charging notification. An automatic switching feature has also been added for CarPlay.
AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 2, which feature noise cancellation (ANC), have now received Live Translation. All of these features will also be available on the AirPods Pro 3, which will go on pre-sale on Friday, September 19th.
