The Amazfit T-Rex 3 is finally leveling up. With software version 4.1.5.1 now rolling out, the rugged smartwatch is officially getting Zepp OS 5.0 alongside a fresh wave of features users have been waiting for. This marks its most significant software overhaul since launch.
Zepp OS 5.0 update brings UI upgrades and energy tracking
Zepp Health’s latest OS update doesn’t just tweak performance, it overhauls the T-Rex 3 experience. Users now get a redesigned interface with smoother transitions and refreshed animations. There’s also new font scaling in Accessibility settings, and you can now take screenshots by pressing the SEL and DOWN buttons together.
One standout addition is BioCharge, which replaces the older Body Battery feature. It still monitors your energy levels but offers more dynamic tracking based on stress, sleep, and activity giving users a clearer snapshot of recovery.
Amazfit T-Rex 3 adds new sports modes and diving functionality
The T-Rex 3 is built for the outdoors, and this update pushes that even further. Scuba Diving has officially joined the list of tracked activities. Meanwhile, more workout types now support weighted tracking including trail running, mountain climbing, and hiking. New entries like weighted hiking have been added outright.
Athletes and adventurers also gain access to:
- Topographic map support for extreme activities like skydiving and kitesurfing
- Uphill alerts during guided routes
- Jet Lag Manager for frequent flyers
- Stryd pod compatibility for runners
Additionally, users can now zoom in on images in the notification center and manually edit nap logs.
Update rolling out gradually across regions
Version 4.1.5.1 is being released in stages. T-Rex 3 users in China, the US, and Canada are seeing it first, with wider availability expected in the following week.
If you’re wearing a T-Rex 3 right now, here’s a quick look at what Zepp OS 5.0 delivers:
- BioCharge energy tracking replaces Body Battery
- Scuba diving mode + more weighted activity support
- UI refresh with smoother animations and font scaling
- Stryd pod and topographic map support
- New tools: Jet Lag Manager, uphill alerts, screenshot shortcuts
- Expanded notification handling and nap editing
A rugged watch finally gets a smarter brain
The T-Rex 3 has always been about durability and endurance, but now it’s smarter, more refined, and a lot more useful. Zepp OS 5.0 turns it from a rugged tracker into a well-rounded training tool, just in time for your next adventure.
