Amazon has pulled the plug on the beloved Kindle model!

Ana sayfa / News

Amazon has announced the discontinuation of its popular Kindle Oasis e-book reader. Renewed for the last time in 2019, the Kindle Oasis was the last model to feature page-turn buttons. Amazon stated that it plans to completely remove these physical keys in future Kindle models. Here are the details…

The Kindle Oasis was first introduced in 2016, received an update in 2017, and in 2018 it replaced the Kindle Voyage as the top-end e-book reader. In 2019, another generation was released.

But after five years without a new model, Amazon has officially announced that it will no longer continue the series. Devon Corvasce, the company’s public relations manager for devices, said the Kindle Oasis will not be re-released once stocks run out.

Amazon’s decision is not limited to discontinuing the Oasis model. Corvasce stated that all of the company’s devices will be “touch-first” and that users are used to touch screens. Although page-turn buttons were one of the most notable features of the Kindle Oasis, this feature will no longer be included in the Kindle lineup.

As for the new Kindle devices, Amazon announced four new models for 2024. The new Kindle Paperwhite comes with a 7-inch screen, while the base model offers a brighter display. There is also a model with a color screen called Kindle Colorsoft. In addition to reading e-books, the Kindle Scribe model offers the option to take notes.
