Amazon’s Lottery-Like Error for a Customer

Ana sayfa / News

Amazon, the world’s largest retail giant, occasionally makes headlines with bizarre delivery errors despite its massive logistics network. Recently, a customer, under the username u/1trollzor1 on Reddit, shared an incredible experience with tech enthusiasts. The user had ordered only two NVMe SSDs from Amazon, but upon opening the package, they found far more than ordered – a whopping 20 SSDs!

In these times when storage unit prices have doubled, receiving such a package is like finding a gold mine. According to the shared images, the products sent to the user were Samsung 9100 PRO 2 TB models, one of the fastest PCIe Gen 5.0 drives on the market. Considering that a single drive costs approximately $250, the total value of this mistakenly sent package reaches $5,000.

This figure represents a very significant budget in the technology world. In fact, with this amount, one could easily assemble a very powerful gaming PC with top-tier hardware like an RTX 5090 graphics card and a Ryzen 9800X3D processor. The most surprising part was Amazon’s reaction. Despite the user reporting the issue, Amazon acknowledged the mistake and refused to take the products back.

Usually, there are small chances of getting a refund or continuing to use a damaged product. However, obtaining 20 high-capacity, top-tier pieces of hardware completely free of charge is considered a one-in-a-million chance. The user can now either use these components or sell them for a significant income.

So, why do you think Amazon made this decision? If you were in this situation, would you return the products or take this opportunity?
