AMD Changes Plans: No More RDNA 3, Moving to RDNA 4!

Ana sayfa / News

If you’ve been eagerly waiting for low-end GPUs from AMD’s Radeon RX 7000 series, there’s some disappointing news. AMD has made a strategic decision to skip releasing low-end RDNA 3 GPUs and will instead focus directly on RDNA 4-based GPUs. What does this mean? Here are the details…

Initially, AMD was expected to release RDNA 3-based Radeon RX 7400 and RX 7300 models for the low-end market. However, recent reports indicate that AMD has scrapped these plans. This means we may never see these GPUs, which were supposed to use the Navi 33 chips, on the market. Rumors from China suggest that even AMD’s partners have not started production of these GPUs. Instead, AMD has decided to focus its energy and resources on RDNA 4 GPUs.

AMD now plans to move directly to RDNA 4-based solutions for the low-end GPU market. The RX 8000 series, built on the RDNA 4 foundation, is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2025. This new series will utilize Navi 41, 42, and 43 chips. So, what does this mean? AMD promises to deliver more competitive and powerful products by significantly upgrading its low-end GPUs.

AMD warned! Install this update against giant vulnerability

AMD started to update its processors against the Sinkhole vulnerability. In this context, many processors have been updated.

The RX 8400 and RX 8300 models, which will replace the previously planned RX 7400 and RX 7300, will be more ambitious with all the advantages that RDNA 4 brings. Releasing RDNA 3-based low-end GPUs could have provided AMD with short-term gains. However, by transitioning to RDNA 4, AMD aims to offer more powerful and competitive products in the long run. Additionally, with the launch of RDNA 4-based GPUs, users can expect improved performance, better energy efficiency, and an overall superior gaming experience.

AMD’s move is set to create a significant stir in the GPU world. Skipping the low-end RDNA 3 market might disappoint some users, but the innovations brought by RDNA 4 could quickly make up for it. In the coming years, we’ll see how AMD’s strategy will impact the low-end GPU market.
