AMD’s new Ryzen AI PRO 300 series will cater specifically to business users
While the previous generation Ryzen PRO 8040 series had a maximum of 8 Zen4 cores, this number increases to 12 cores (4 Zen5 and 8 Zen5c) in the Ryzen AI PRO 300 series. There are also significant improvements on the graphics side. The GPU core count has been increased from 12 RDNA3 to 16 RDNA3.5.
When it comes to AI processing, the second version of AMD’s XDNA NPU will make a significant leap, increasing the processing power from the previous 16 TOPS to 55 TOPS. That means it can increase speed and efficiency for AI-based processing many times over.
AMD’s performance comparisons are remarkable. The Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360 is 9% faster than Intel’s Core Ultra 7 165U. The higher-end Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 375 is 14% faster than the Core Ultra 7 165H. Judging by the data, AMD’s new processors will not only impress on paper, but also in reality.
