AMD Zen 6 mobile chips leak with Gator Range and Medusa families

Ana sayfa / News

A newly surfaced roadmap just gave us a glimpse at what AMD has planned for its Zen 6 mobile lineup. The leak outlines three distinct series: Gator Range, Medusa Point, and Medusa BB aimed at everything from gaming powerhouses to everyday laptops, all set to hit by 2027.

According to the leaked slides, Zen 6 mobile chips will be split across several tiers. Gator Range is the performance beast here, meant to replace the Fire Range “HX” series. It’s built for premium gaming laptops, bringing up to 24 cores and 32 threads with TDP levels exceeding 55W. This puts it dangerously close to desktop-grade performance in a portable form.

Medusa Point, meanwhile, takes aim at the premium and upper-mainstream segment. As the follow-up to Strix Point, it combines both 6 and 6C cores on a 3nm node. The configuration maxes out at 22 cores, including:

Not everyone needs top-tier specs, and that’s where Medusa BB comes in. It’s built for more affordable laptops, using up to 10 cores in a hybrid design: 4 Zen 6, 4 Zen 6C, and 2 low-power Zen 6 cores. An 8 CU RDNA 3.5 iGPU will handle graphics, offering slightly less power than Medusa Point’s version but still enough for mainstream use.

All three series, Gator Range, Medusa Point, and Medusa BB, are currently projected to land sometime in 2027. However, that timeline could vary based on OEM release schedules. Internal chatter hints at an earlier Zen 6 rollout in 2026, meaning these chips may show up sooner in select devices.

AMD is expected to reveal more at its Financial Analyst Day event this November. Until then, this leaked roadmap sets the stage for a mobile lineup that looks as aggressive as it is ambitious.
