Anbernic RG477V handheld gears up for global launch with full specs confirmed

Ana sayfa / News

Anbernic has taken the wraps off its upcoming RG477V retro gaming handheld, and it looks like a global release is inching closer. While a concrete launch date remains unclear, the company has now revealed all core specs signaling that pre-orders may go live before the year ends.

The RG477V closely mirrors the recently released RG477M, sharing both hardware and layout. At its core is a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chip, paired with a 4.7-inch IPS screen running at 1,280 × 960 resolution and a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate. That high refresh rate won’t impact retro titles much, but it allows Black Frame Insertion (BFI) for smoother 60 FPS gameplay with reduced blur.

Anbernic has clearly aimed for a mix of retro authenticity and modern visuals and the display hits that balance well.

Virtual Boy by Nintendo pre-orders go live but only for Switch Online members

Nintendo opens pre-orders for its revived Virtual Boy accessory exclusive to Switch Online members ahead of its February 2026 release.

The RG477V will come in two memory and storage variants:

Each model includes dual Hall effect joysticks, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and a microSD card slot supporting up to 2 TB. Powering everything is a 5,500 mAh battery with 27 W fast charging, ensuring long play sessions and fast top-ups.

Anbernic hasn’t confirmed a ship date, but the timing of the reveal just ahead of the holidays suggests that pre-orders may open soon. Still, the company is unlikely to ship units before early 2026, even if global sales begin this month.

Here’s what makes the RG477V stand out from the crowded handheld field:

That said, Anbernic has made no promises about future Android updates beyond version 14 something to keep in mind if long-term OS support matters to you.

With specs locked in and teasers already circulating, the RG477V feels nearly ready for the spotlight. Whether you’re eyeing it as your next emulation machine or simply love Anbernic’s form factor tweaks, the next wave of handheld nostalgia is almost in hand.

And if the company sticks to tradition, fans worldwide won’t be waiting long to click “Buy.”
