Andrew Garfield responded to rumors about whether he will return as Spider-Man in Sony Pictures and Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man film. In an interview with IndieWire, Garfield avoided giving a definitive answer to these claims, leaving fans excited. Here are the details…
Andrew Garfield: “Don’t Believe Everything”
In the past, Garfield similarly avoided questions about his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and this time, he did not provide a clear answer regarding the rumors. As you may recall, Garfield returned to the role of Spider-Man in No Way Home, alongside Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland. Speaking about the new film, Garfield suggested that not everything on the internet should be trusted.
Garfield stated, “I mean, the internet is a vast place. I think people can say anything to get clicks. So you might be misled,” which both excited and confused fans.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced in July that the script for the new Spider-Man film was in the works and would be completed soon. Following this announcement, rumors quickly spread that Garfield, along with Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland, would return once again as the three Spider-Men.
In April, Tom Holland spoke about the future of the series, noting that a top-tier team was working on ideas for the new film. However, Holland emphasized the importance of preserving the legacy of the series, stating, “We haven’t figured it out yet, but we have a legacy to protect.” Holland remarked that the third film was special in many ways, and the next step needed to be the right one.
Holland previously mentioned that he had considered passing on the Spider-Man role to someone else, but he would be willing to return if the story was good.
