The countdown for Android 14, which Google has been working on for quite some time, has officially begun. Initially, the release of the new version was expected to be in August, just like Android 13, but the company surprised everyone by extending this timeline. During this period, new beta builds were released, and even last week, Beta 5.2 was released. So when will Android 14 have its official release? This question was answered recently.
Android 14’s release date
Mishaal Rahman, known for leaks in the industry, stated that Google has not yet fully completed its work on Android 14, so it has postponed the release of the stable version to the Made by Google event scheduled for October 4.
At the event, Google is expected to introduce its latest products, including the Pixel 8 series. If the claim is true, Android 14 will be made available to users at this launch. However, it’s important to note a critical detail at this point. Even renowned smartphone manufacturers were expecting the new version to come out in September, or even yesterday. OnePlus, among these companies, recently announced that the OxygenOS 14 interface based on the new build will be available for general use at the end of this month.
This delay has somewhat disrupted the plans of smartphone manufacturers. The main reason for this is that Google did not adhere to the Android beta process and general release dates, which were previously quite stable in previous years.
