Volume Controls Redesigned in Android 16
The development process of Android 16 has already started drawing attention. According to developer preview insights, the new OS is not only about new features but also about a major redesign in the user interface. One of these updates involves a revamped volume control panel.
Leaked visuals reveal that the volume controls in Android 16 have moved away from thick, pill-shaped sliders to a slimmer, more minimalist, and functional design. The new design features sharper edges for both vertical and horizontal sliders. Notably, the music icon, which previously moved along with the volume level, is now fixed beneath the slider.
It’s not yet confirmed whether these design changes will make it to the final release. However, Android 16 is expected to reach Platform Stability by March 2025. The inclusion of these design updates in upcoming beta versions could provide a clearer picture of Google’s final decision.
