Android tests the new Theft Detection feature
Called Theft Detection Lock, this new feature uses artificial intelligence to detect whether certain movements indicate a theft attempt. If the phone detects sudden and jarring movements, it will recognize it as a potential theft attempt. Additionally, it will be activated if the device is used on a different network or remains away from a frequently used network for a long time.
This automatic theft detection feature is introduced as part of Android 15’s privacy and security improvements. It also includes a password-protected vault called “private space” to store sensitive applications and data. The theft detection feature will also be backward compatible with older versions of Android.
Android users in Brazil will not only be able to test this new feature but also find new ways to reach businesses. For example, they can message businesses directly via WhatsApp by tapping a button in the search lists. Additionally, they can book appointments with local businesses such as doctors and beauty specialists directly from the search results.
