Malware infected app hit over 3 million Android devices

Hackers try many methods to reach their target audience. One of them is spyware. Spyware can infect users through various channels. Three million Android users are also infected with this spyware. According to French security researcher Maxime Ingrao, 3 million Android users may be infected with spyware. Worse still, many of these users may be unaware of it. How can Autolycos spyware infect Android users harm?

The spyware called Autolycos installs on the device and activates itself, just like other spyware. The active spyware can perform several operations on the device without the device owner’s knowledge.

Although the uses of spyware vary, they generally serve commercial purposes. Autolycos, which infected Android users, made users buy premium subscriptions. When you purchase from the Google Play Store, Google may store your payment information with your consent. If there is no obligation to use the 3D Secure feature, the subscription process can be started with a simple confirmation.
