Annoying news for OLED MacBooks!

Ana sayfa / Notebooks

The common point in the reports that have emerged until today is that Apple will make a significant change to the screens of its MacBook family in the next few years and will start using OLED screens. In fact, the initial reports indicated that the first MacBooks with this technology would appear in front of users in 2024. However, according to a recent report, the US-based manufacturer will keep users waiting for OLED screens.

MacBook Pros with OLED screens delayed to 2027

As it is known, Apple is preparing to use OLED screens in the iPad Pro models it will launch next year. Naturally, there is great curiosity about the beloved MacBook series of the company. Unfortunately, recent reports and developments indicate that the transition to OLED for laptops will not happen anytime soon.

Ross Young, the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, made critical statements about Apple’s MacBook models in a recent webinar with Bloomberg. According to Young, it is unlikely that the company will release an OLED MacBook Pro until 2026 or 2027. It should be noted that a clear statement about the MacBook Air was not used in the statements. However, a similar situation is expected for this model as well.

Apple used IPS LCD panels in the MacBook series for a long time. Then it transitioned to the more advanced form of IPS LCD technology, mini LED. OLED technology was used in the Apple Watch before coming to smartphones with the iPhone X. However, it has not yet been preferred in iPads or MacBooks.
