Xiaomi, continuing its update efforts at full speed, aims to send Android 13 to all its compatible models before the upcoming release of Android 14. The Chinese manufacturer has recently made a similar decision for the POCO M4 Pro 5G model. The POCO M4 Pro 5G will receive the Android 13-based MIUI 14 update.
POCO M4 Pro 5G receives MIUI 14 update
According to Xiaomiui, the POCO M4 Pro 5G model, which was introduced to users in 2022, has started receiving the MIUI 14 update. The new build is currently being rolled out for variants running the Global ROM of the respective phone and will soon be made available for other ROMs as well. Moreover, it carries the build number MIUI-V14.0.1.0.TGBMIXM and includes the June 2023 security patch.
What does MIUI 14 offer us?
With Xiaomi’s recent event, we now have a better understanding of the important details of the new interface. Firstly, you will be able to delete many of the pre-installed basic applications that you no longer use but couldn’t remove due to system restrictions. Additionally, Xiaomi emphasizes that the Foton Engine technology, which optimizes the operation of applications, especially multiplayer games, will reduce the power consumption of third-party applications by 22%.
Another claim made by the company is a significant improvement in system performance. With the combination of Android 13 and MIUI 14, system fluency has been increased by 88%. Despite this improvement, there is a 16% reduction in power consumption. Although system performance has been enhanced, Xiaomi’s data shows that MIUI 14 occupies 23% less space compared to the previous version.
This result is achieved through the redesign and reengineering of the MIUI interface. The new MIUI 14 is not only faster than previous versions but also more stable and occupies less space. However, it is worth noting that these improvements are primarily optimized for models featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 8 Gen 1+, and the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processors.
Along with MIUI 14, a new feature called “Super Icons” is introduced. This feature allows you to add different symbols to the home screen, enabling the creation of livelier themes.
