Anthropic valuation could more than double as $150B funding talks begin

Ana sayfa / News

Anthropic is chasing bigger numbers and possibly bigger compromises. The AI startup, known for its Claude chatbot, is reportedly in early talks to raise its valuation to over $150 billion, more than double its current figure. That jump would give it a serious edge as the race to dominate AI enters a new phase.

Investors are lining up. According to multiple insiders, backers have already signaled interest at a price tag north of $150 billion. The raise is expected to start at $3 billion and could stretch to $5 billion. If successful, it would mark one of the largest valuation spikes in the AI sector to date.

That’s a sharp rise from the $61.5 billion valuation Anthropic secured earlier this year, and it reflects the company’s aggressive growth. Annual recurring revenue has surged from $1 billion in January to over $4 billion now, thanks largely to enterprise deals.

Meta has hired Apple’s AI manager.

Meta has hired Ruoming Pang, one of Apple's AI managers. This move could create a rift between the two companies.

Anthropic has long steered clear of Gulf investment, wary of reputational risks. But as competition tightens, it’s talking to major players in Abu Dhabi, including MGX, an AI-focused fund already tied to a $500 million secondary share buy last year.

CEO Dario Amodei has acknowledged the ethical trade-off. In a note to staff, he admitted the challenge of maintaining moral purity while running a business at this scale. His comment? “No bad person should ever benefit from our success,” might be noble, but not exactly practical.

Anthropic isn’t just fighting OpenAI for capital. It’s in a brutal race for top minds. Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly offering $100 million compensation packages to lure AI researchers. Meanwhile, OpenAI prepares to launch GPT-5, its most advanced model yet.

Despite skyrocketing revenue, neither company is profitable. Massive compute costs and talent acquisition are burning through billions as they scale up. But Anthropic isn’t slowing down, backed by Google, with Amazon reportedly planning to deepen its investment beyond the $8 billion already committed.

While Claude is gaining traction in coding and enterprise AI, the startup’s long-term edge is still uncertain. OpenAI dominates the consumer market with over 500 million weekly users. Now, with Middle East money on the table and a $150 billion valuation within reach, Anthropic has to decide what price it’s willing to pay beyond dollars.

The frontier’s wide open, but the gloves are off.
