The European Union has been working on various regulations in the digital space lately. However, one new regulation, the Digital Markets Act (DMA), has raised significant concerns. According to recent news, this regulation, which directly affects many technology companies, appears to be putting Apple and Microsoft in a difficult position. Here’s the reason!

Apple and Microsoft are objecting to the DMA, particularly for Bing and iMessage!

The European Union (EU) has introduced a regulation that requires products and services operating within its jurisdiction to be interoperable. This regulation, known as the “Digital Markets Act” (DMA), has a direct impact on many technology companies. However, recent news has highlighted concerns, especially on the part of Apple and Microsoft.

According to the announcement, officials will release a list tomorrow under the scope of the Digital Markets Act. This list will include products and services belonging to certain technology companies. The EU will request that the products and services on the list comply with interoperability and competition rules.

Bad news for those who are waiting for a big-screen iPad from Apple!

In addition to this, according to some emerging information, iMessage and Bing services will also be on this list. However, according to Apple and Microsoft, iMessage and Bing are not significant enough to be on this list. Furthermore, it is claimed that both companies are trying to remove their services from the list.

Additionally, iMessage and Bing are not the only services listed for Apple and Microsoft. For example, Microsoft’s Windows operating system is also on the list, and the company is not objecting to this service within the EU. Similarly, Apple’s iOS operating system is on the list, but the company is not taking any action regarding this.

Apart from these, the company raises objections when it comes to Bing and iMessage. According to allegations, Microsoft has stated that Bing is more popular than Google. Similarly, Apple also expresses that the iMessage service is not as popular. If the objection is not approved, both companies will have to make their services compatible with rival platforms.

So, what do you think about this move by Apple and Microsoft? Do you think they are justified? Don’t forget to share your opinions with us in the comments section!
