Apple users doubled Android in spending!

Ana sayfa / News

Statistics have shown that Apple users did not hold back on spending in the App Store. In the first quarter of 2024, Apple’s App Store saw double the spending compared to the Google Play Store. So, why is this happening? Here are the details…

According to data from market research firm Sensor Tower, Apple iPhone users spent nearly $25 billion on the App Store in the first quarter of 2024. In the same period, Android users spent only $11 billion on the Google Play Store.

Interestingly, the number of downloads from the Google Play Store was three times higher than that from the App Store. This indicates that Android users are less willing to pay for apps. In the first quarter, 8.4 billion app downloads from the App Store generated $24.6 billion in revenue.

In contrast, 25.5 billion app downloads from Google Play brought in only $11.2 billion. These results show that Apple users are more generous when it comes to spending on apps. The App Store’s revenue increased by 11.5% compared to last year, while Google Play’s revenue increased by only 5.3%.

Pirated software that leaked into the App Store as a vision test application became a hot topic!

Pirated movie watching software called Kimi somehow managed to pass the App Store controls as a "vision test application".

Smartphone users spend the most money on games. Apple users spent $13 billion on games in the first quarter of 2024, while spending $11.6 billion on other types of software. For Android users, the percentage spent on games is even higher, with 65% of spending going towards games. The countries with the highest spending were the US, China, Japan, South Korea, and the UK.

These figures reveal that iPhone users spend more on apps, making the App Store a more profitable platform for developers. What do you think is the reason for this difference? Why might Android users spend less on apps? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
