Apple shifts to China for display production!

Ana sayfa /

Apple has been working with Korean-based companies for a long time to produce display panels for its smartphones, tablets, and computers. As a result, one of its biggest competitors in the market, Samsung, continues to profit from every iPhone sold. However, this situation is about to change soon.

Apple turns to China for display supply instead of Samsung!

As part of its plan to reduce its dependence on Samsung in display production, Apple is looking to diversify its OLED supply chain by adding Chinese OLED panel manufacturer BOE to the mix. Until now, the company has relied solely on Samsung and LG, even giving the majority of its orders to Samsung.

However, the flow of money is expected to shift from Korea to China soon. Unfortunately, BOE’s panels have not yet met the quality requirements to be included in Apple’s iPhone 15 production plans. According to reports, BOE’s OLED production shows inconsistent efficiency and causes light leakage in the Dynamic Adaptive section.

Apple releases iOS 16.4: New emojis, voice isolation, and more

Apple has released iOS 16.4, the fourth major update to its iOS 16 operating system. Here are the details...

Nevertheless, recent leaks suggest that BOE is not completely out of the mix. The Chinese manufacturer appears to have made significant progress in a short amount of time. However, it will not be able to fulfill the first OLED order. Therefore, it is expected to be included in the next batch of orders.

As a result, Samsung will have to increase production for the iPhone 15 series and start production one month earlier than planned. However, Apple will push Samsung as far away from the equation as possible from next year onwards.

Of course, the ties between the companies will not be completely severed. LG and Samsung already have dozens of new panel technologies in development and thousands of patents, so if Apple switches to a different panel type in the future, it will knock on these companies’ doors again.
