According to recent reports, Apple organized a special event at Apple Park for its top executives to try out the virtual reality -VR- headset expected to be unveiled in June. The purpose of this meeting was to get high-level management to adopt the device and convince them that it is truly good. Here are the details…
Apple takes a critical step for the VR headset!
Apple brought together 100 top executives months before WWDC 23 in a meeting held at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park. According to Bloomberg’s Power On newsletter, the meeting was a major milestone designed to get top executives moving early.
While some top executives have seen this headset in development over the years, these were mostly presentations of small-scale and unfinished products. The meeting at the Steve Jobs Theater was a stunning and exciting event, according to participants.
However, some problematic areas in the design of the product, especially its $3,000 price tag and the use of an external battery, which testers found uncomfortable and required replacement every few hours, have raised expectations that it will not perform well at first. Other concerns include the lack of distinct feature applications and limited media content.
Apple’s industrial design team is said to have preferred augmented reality glasses over a more traditional headset. However, management concerns were ultimately resolved and the product was approved for release. It was also approved by the company’s CEO, Tim Cook. Regardless of the state of the product, it is believed that it will have buyers and that Apple will continue to maintain its market leader position.
