As an innovative company, Apple does not only continue its work on iPhone, iPad and MacBooks. The technology giant announced that it is working on an autonomous electric vehicle with 5,000 people in 2018. The Apple electric car project, or Titan, will also put Apple in the race in a different lane.
Apple may come up with a dazzling design in its electric car
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the tech giant stepped up its work and hired Luigi Taraborrelli for its design team. The Italian name previously led Lamborghini’s design team. Luigi Taraborrelli has 20 years of work experience at Lamborghini. Italians, who have luxury vehicle brands such as Lamborghini, Ferrari and Maserati, are very successful in the design business.
Apple is a brand that cares about design and innovation. For this reason, its products are appreciated by countless users and authorities. Probably because of its importance to design, it also wants to have a good design in its electric cars.
Apple assigned Kevin Lynch of the Apple Watch team, who is also a lead role on the Apple Watch team, and John Giannandrea, the company’s head of machine learning, to the Titan project, where it works for autonomous electric vehicles. With the new move, the team seems to be strong in design.
Taraborrelli will conduct design studies on suspension components, rims and tires, steering and brake systems, exhaust systems, fuel systems, and driver assistance technologies. Gurman and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo think Apple aims to start mass production of its electric car by 2025.
But still, more studies and changes are going on. New to the design team, Luigi Taraborrelli can make radical design changes.
