Apple Intelligence may not be revolutionary!

Ana sayfa / News

When you think of Apple, innovation immediately comes to mind. The company usually observes technology, waits patiently, and when the time comes, it takes the stage and announces a bombshell. However, this time, the situation is a little different. In the world of artificial intelligence (AI), Apple was expected to make a big breakthrough with its own “Apple Intelligence” system. However, what was introduced at the last event may not be that groundbreaking.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the newly introduced artificial intelligence features will “create incredible effects,” while Craig Federighi claimed that this technology will “transform everything you do with iPhone.” However, when you look at the list of introduced features, these exciting claims unfortunately pale a bit. The main features offered by Apple Intelligence are as follows:

If these features don’t seem “revolutionary,” you’re not alone. These tools have sparked a huge backlash from fans, as many of these capabilities already exist on multiple platforms. Text assistants have been around for a long time, and message summarization is available in nearly every major language model.

Generative art (image generator) has become a concept that most of us are familiar with. And photo search features have been standard across platforms for years. Then there’s the web search, which even the old voice assistants called “dumbs” were said to be able to do 10 years ago.

Of course, it is a significant advantage for Apple to offer these features locally on the device and in a more secure way. It is also true that these technologies offer new opportunities for those who have difficulty using touch screens. But unfortunately, it is said that this is not a move that surprises everyone or is seen as a great innovation, as Apple usually does.

Ironically, the Apple Intelligence move was supposed to be the “peak iPhone” of AI. But the features introduced are said to be nothing more than a neat slate of existing technologies. Moreover, some of these features will not come with the iPhone 16 right away, but will be made available to users in a later update.

The transformative power of AI technology is undeniable. It has the potential to revolutionize scientific research, coding tasks, and even media production. But the AI capabilities presented at Apple’s event may not seem like they will make a big difference in our daily lives as presented to users.

It seems that Apple has said that it will “redefine AI” this time, but it has not delivered anything very exciting. However, it is always possible that Apple will make a big leap forward, as it has done in the past. But for now, Apple Intelligence has unfortunately not made the big leap that was expected.
