Apple‘s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2022 recently took place. The company introduced iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and new MacBook models at the event. The latest version, which is expected to be available in the fall, comes with more customization options. Here is everything we know about Apple iOS 16…
What is new with Apple’s iOS 16
The lock screen is at the center of Apple’s iOS 16, now it will be possible to add widgets and configure multiple lock screens. You can switch between by swiping across the screen whenever you want. Also, users can adjust different focus modes with the new customizable lock screen. Apple has also added new MIUI-like animated wallpapers.
Notifications have also changed with the new Apple iOS 16, instead of piling up across the screen, notifications “roll in” at the bottom of the screen. Also, thanks to the new notification feature called “live activities”, users will not have to open their phones all the time. From here, you will be able to track the status of the Uber or your delivery.
There’s a major update coming to messages, Apple iOS 16 adds some editing the abilities. From now, iOS users can edit typos out of sent messages, recall messages and mark them unread so you can come back to it later. Almost no one uses the messaging app these days, but iMessage is still popular.
Wallet app, is getting somw new features too, now you can share saved ID’s or documents (like vaccination card) securely by supplying only necessary information. If the necessary information is your birthday you do not have to show your social securtiy number.
Apple’s main surprise was the “Pay Later” feature, for the Wallet. This feature, adding the option to split a bill into four equal payments without interest or fees. There is also a new feature called Safety Check, aimed to protect people in abusive situations. It allows you to easily revoke access to certain information, like location, that you may have shared previously.
Also some new features like multi-stop routing and six more city added to Apple Maps. iOS 16 will be available this fall for iPhone 8 and later. Unfortunately, the iPhone 7 series will not receive updates this time.
