Apple says iOS 16 dominates all iPhone models

Ana sayfa / iOS

Apple shared a report revealing the usage rates of iOS versions as the WWDC 2023 event approaches. The latest data shows that over 80% of all actively used iPhones are running iOS 16 or higher versions. Is Apple satisfied with this rate?

Over 80% of all iPhones running iOS 16

Apple released iOS 16 to the public in September last year, and it has managed to capture a significant user base in a relatively short period of time. The usage rate of iOS 16 across all active iPhones is approaching 81%. This figure appears to be quite impressive, especially when compared to Android 13.

In fact, it is not surprising to see usage above 80%. An analysis earlier this year reported that 72% of iPhone users had migrated to iOS 16. On the other hand, 71% of all iPads are now running iPadOS 16.

Russia accuses the US of exploiting iPhone security vulnerabilities

Russia has accused the US of exploiting security vulnerabilities in iPhones and launching attacks against Russian users.

When examining iPhones released in the last four years, the usage rate of iOS 16 reaches 90%. This statistic demonstrates the willingness of Apple users to adopt new versions. While 8% of these models are still using iOS 15, 2% are on even older versions.

On the Android side, progress has been much slower. Android 13, released in October, was being used on approximately 12.1% of all devices as of April.

On the other hand, iPhone users started to complain about iOS 16.5 battery performance. Expressing their criticism of the new update on Twitter, users said that the battery life of some models is reduced. However, Apple reported that this is not true.
