With iOS 18, Apple plans to offer EU users a wider choice of default apps. From now on, users will be able to choose their default apps in many different categories such as calling, messaging, navigation, password management, and more, not just browsers and email clients.

With the new update, there will be a new section called “Default Apps” in the Settings menu of iOS 18. This section will allow users to see and change their current default apps.

Apple will also reportedly allow users in the EU to delete more built-in apps. With this change, users will be able to remove apps such as App Store, Messages, Camera, Photos and Safari from their devices.

With iOS 18, Apple will also offer a new browser selection option for users in the EU. The updated browser selection screen will give users more information about choosing their default browser. This screen will open by default for all EU users using the Safari browser, and users who choose different browsers will see Safari’s icon automatically replaced by the new browser.
