After a series of complaints and even lawsuits, Apple acknowledged the design flaws. It then launched a repair program for various models for up to 4 years after the sale. Under the program, it was decided that authorized service centers would replace defective keyboards free of charge.

The deadline for models with butterfly keyboards under this program is approaching. The 2019 13-inch MacBook Pro with four Thunderbolt ports will be excluded from the free repair program after November.

Owners have until November to take advantage of this program. If you are experiencing any stuttering or non-pressing issues with your butterfly keyboard, it is recommended that you take it to an authorized service center within a few months.

With the end of 2019 MacBook Pro support, Apple’s butterfly keyboard story will come to an end.
