Google, involved in almost every area of technology, also manufactures smartphones. The brand with the Pixel phone series is making efforts to gain more market share in this industry. The brand recently introduced its new phones. So how successful is the company in this field? Sales figures for Google Pixel have been revealed.
Google has delivered approximately 40 million Pixel phones!
Google recently unveiled its new Pixel 8 smartphone series and Pixel Watch 2 watch at the Made By Google event held in New York City, USA. Thus, the Pixel series, which encompasses many products, continued its continuity.
Francisco Jeronimo, Vice President at the globally renowned market analysis company International Data Corporation, revealed the sales figures for the Google Pixel smartphone series. According to this, Google has delivered 37.9 million units worldwide since the first model was introduced in 2016. It is reported that the brand sold 10 million phones just last year. So, there has been a significant increase.
Considering that all manufacturers worldwide made a total of 9.1 billion deliveries in the last 7 years, it can be said that Google has a small market share in this field. At this point, Apple, the brand’s biggest rival, is estimated to make more than 224 million deliveries per year. So there is a huge gap between them.
Of course, the important point here is not that Google has a smaller market share compared to its competitors but that the sales figures continue to rise consistently. Sales numbers are increasing every year. In this context, we may see Google more actively in the smartphone market in the coming years.
