Apple’s designer of nearly 20 years, Peter Russell-Clarke, has announced that he is leaving the tech giant. Russell-Clark’s new career goal will be the space sector. Accordingly, he announced that he has joined the space technology company Vast as a consultant.

Russell-Clarke’s departure from Apple was confirmed in an announcement by Vast. Working in collaboration with Jony Ive at Apple, Russell-Clarke played a key role in the design of many iconic products, including the iMac, iPod nano, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. He contributed to more than a thousand Apple patents.

Before joining Apple in 2003, Russell-Clarke founded his own design studio working with big clients like Nike and Swatch. He then decided to cancel his own studio in agreement with Apple.
