Apple is expecting strong demand again
Sources that spoke to Bloomberg said that Apple expects to produce nearly 220 million iPhones in total in 2022, the same as the manufacturing in 2021. Although smartphone sales are expected to decrease by 3.5% in 2022, Apple still keeps its strong position in the phone market with its new coming iPhones.
Apple doesn’t concern about sales because of its Q3 earning results. Bloomberg reported, “Apple Inc has asked suppliers to build at least as many of its next-generation iPhones this year as in 2021, counting on an affluent clientele and dwindling competition to weather a global electronics downturn.”
It also added, “The tech giant is telling its assemblers to make 90 million of its newest devices, on par with last year, despite deteriorating projections for the smartphone market, according to people with knowledge of the matter. The Cupertino, California-based company still expects to assemble roughly 220 million iPhones in total for 2022, also about level with last year, according to one of the people.”
Apple trusts its new iPhone 14 for these sales. According to the claims, Apple will launch iPhone 14 in a few weeks with an event. However, things may not be well as Apple thinks, because the company will use the A15 chip, which iPhone 13 has, in the iPhone 14 standard versions. The Pro models will get the new A16 Bionic SoCs.
