M3 Mac mini and 14/16-inch MacBook Pro delayed until 2024

According to a report by Bloomberg, Apple will officially unveil the M3 chip this fall. The first devices to be powered by this processor will be the 13-inch MacBook Pro, 13-inch MacBook Air and the new 24-inch iMac.

More powerful devices with the M3 chip will be delayed by a year. These models are expected to include the Mac mini, 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro. It was stated that Mac mini and high-end MacBook Pros were delayed until mid-2024.

ASUS is coming with a Mac Mini competitor PC!

Intel announced a partnership with ASUS for Next Unit of Compute (NUC) mini PC models. Here are the details:

Apple is not in favor of renewing the Mac mini model every year. It thinks that the M2 Mac mini currently on the market is enough. On the other hand, it is reported that high-end MacBook Pros will not be powered by M3. It is thought that Apple will launch these devices with M3 Pro and M3 Max chips.

In March, we reported that Apple was in development for two new iMac models with the M3 processor. The M3 chip will offer a significant boost in CPU and GPU performance compared to the M2 series. Apple is not working on a major core update and will use TSMC’s 3nm process.

For now, the 24-inch iMac with the M1 processor is the only all-in-one computer sold by Apple. The current model with the M1 chip was released in April 2021, and Gurman expects the updated model with the M3 chip to be introduced in October.
