The iOS 16.3.1 update, which has been beta tested by Apple for a while, has recently become available. Apple has released iOS 16.3.1, iPadOS 16.3.1 and macOS Ventura 13.2.1 for download. These versions should be updated immediately. Also, the iOS 16.3.1 update is approximately 270 MB in size. The official release notes from Apple for the update are as follows:

- Advanced Data Protection for iCloud improves the way iCloud data categories (iCloud Backup, Security Keys for Apple ID allows users to strengthen the security of their accounts by requiring a physical security key as part of the sign-in process with two-factor authentication on new devices)
- HomePod (2nd generation) support
- Emergency SOS calls now require the side button to be pressed and held along with the volume up or volume down button to prevent accidental emergency calls
- Fixes an issue in Freeform that caused some drawings you created with Apple Pencil or your finger to not appear on shared boards
- Fixes an issue that causes the wallpaper to appear black on a locked screen
- Fixes an issue that caused horizontal lines to temporarily appear when waking up iPhone 14 Pro Max
- Fixes an issue where the Home locked screen widget was not displaying the Home app status correctly
- Fixes an issue that caused Siri to fail to respond properly to music requests
- Fixes issues with Siri requests not being understood correctly in CarPlay
