Apple Roadmap Leaked: Foldable iPhone is on the Horizon!

Ana sayfa / News

Apple’s long-standing traditional iPhone launch schedule and model strategy are undergoing a massive transformation. The company’s classic approach of releasing two standard and two Pro models every autumn is being replaced by a much broader and more diversified product lineup. Apple’s newly leaked roadmap suggests the brand will take more risks by experimenting with entirely new smartphone designs in the coming years.

New iPhone Models Revealed: iPhone Fold and Beyond

This shift began with the release of the iPhone 16e and iPhone Air models in recent years. Previously, the company rarely updated the budget-friendly iPhone SE series, but with the introduction of the iPhone 16e in February, Apple established a new annual cycle for the spring season. The recent launch of the iPhone 17e has further solidified this trend. While the autumn-released iPhone Air shifted the classic four-model lineup, its ambiguous market positioning resulted in sales figures that fell short of targets.

According to leaks, we expect to see only two or three new devices from Apple this autumn. These are projected to be the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Accompanying them will be Apple’s first-ever foldable smartphone with a completely new design: the iPhone Fold. However, some analysts suggest this foldable model could be delayed until December, marking another significant departure from the traditional announcement window.

2027 Vision: iPhone 20 and Clamshell Designs

The 2027 phase of the roadmap appears even more ambitious. The iPhone 18e, standard iPhone 18, and iPhone Air 2 are expected to debut in the spring. For Autumn 2027, rumors point toward a specially designed iPhone 20, featuring a completely bezel-less display that extends to the very edges of the frame. There is also a possibility this innovative model will be branded as the “Ultra.” Furthermore, leaked info suggests Apple is testing another foldable model with a clamshell design.

With a portfolio potentially expanding to include the “e,” standard, Air, Pro, Pro Max, Fold, Ultra, and clamshell models, Apple is set to release more than six new phones per year. Will this variety be an exciting innovation for users or a confusing strategy? What are your thoughts on Apple’s new product roadmap, and which phone are you currently using?
