Apple will launch new M3 series chipsets at the “Scary Fast” event
According to the latest leaks by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple will introduce three new Mac chips, the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max. The new chipsets are expected to be much more powerful than its predecessor, the M2 series. With the new M3 series, upcoming Mac and MacBook models will be faster and offer better performance.
The event will be held at 5PM PT on October 30th (5:30AM IST on October 31st). If you would like to watch the “Scary Fast” event, it will be streamed live on the official website, on YouTube, and on the Apple TV app.
Although it seems that the event will not be as important as an iPhone or Apple Watch launch event, Apple will announce significant technical details about chip speeds and innovations at the event. Here are the details about the expected products depending on the rumors by Mark Gurman:
- M3 Chip:
- Eight cores in total, with four dedicated to high-performance tasks and four for background functions.
- Boasts enhanced memory configurations and faster core performance compared to its predecessor, the M2.
- M3 Pro:
- Comes in various configurations, including models with 12 CPU cores and 18 graphics cores.
- Higher-end versions are expected to feature 14 CPU cores and an impressive 20 graphics cores.
- M3 Max:
- It stands out with a solid configuration consisting of 16 CPU cores and a staggering 40 graphics cores.
- A slightly less powerful variant will be available with 32 graphics cores.
- iMac Receives an Upgrade:
- The iMac, which has been powered by the M1 chip, is in for a much-anticipated update.
- This update is set to re-emerge in Apple’s lineup to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the iMac.
