A new report has revealed Apple’s upcoming artificial intelligence features, which are set to rival Microsoft’s Copilot. Apple has nearly completed development of a productivity artificial intelligence tool for iOS app developers.

According to sources, the company plans to release this tool for third-party software developers sometime beyond this year. As part of its plans to expand Xcode’s capabilities, the tech giant is working on a tool that uses artificial intelligence for coding.

The revamped system, sources claim, will compete with Microsoft’s Copilot, which operates similarly. This tool will also generate code for testing applications, saving time on what is typically considered a tedious process.

Microsoft releases historic update for Copilot

Microsoft has announced a major update to its AI assistant Copilot, including a more modern user interface and improved image editing.

Currently, Apple is encouraging some engineers to test these new artificial intelligence features before releasing them externally to developers. Apple’s secret plans have resulted in the company lagging behind leading productivity artificial intelligences currently spearheaded by players such as OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft.

Alongside these secret plans, the company is also coming up with an AI coding tool set to be released soon. Tim Cook stated, “We have some things that we’re really excited about that we’ll be talking about later this year.” Accordingly, Apple’s new artificial intelligence tool will be announced towards the end of 2024. Reports indicate that Apple’s product offerings are arriving earlier than the company had anticipated.

According to information from journalists, the tech giant is planning to integrate AI features into the next software updates for iPhone and iPad, known internally as Crystal. Another internal AI project named Glow is also planned to be added to MacOS.

Additionally, Apple is building features that will create Apple Music playlists and slideshows. An AI-powered search feature called Spotlight, although currently limited to answering questions about launching applications, is also in the works.
