Apple, which wants to build an artificial intelligence server, wants to use its own processors instead of Nvidia processors. However, with this new plan, the new high-performance M processor developed for Mac was also shelved.

It was previously revealed that Apple would use M4 processors in artificial intelligence servers. It is not known whether this plan, which continues with TMSC, is still in effect. However, Apple is looking to deploy its AI server processor called Baltra in 2026. In this sense, there is a possibility that the artificial intelligence server will be built on the Baltra processor.

So why is Apple looking to build an AI server? Although the partnership with ChatGPT is important for now, the company wants to have its own servers. This could lead to a future AI system that runs on a smartphone and is supported by a server.
