Apple to get help from OpenAI in AI!

Ana sayfa / News

Apple has been experiencing serious delays in developing its next-generation Siri, and it has emerged that the company is considering collaborating with external sources to advance the project. According to a new leak, Apple is considering partnering with AI companies like OpenAI or Anthropic to strengthen the large language model infrastructure behind Siri.

The next-generation assistant, which has been developed internally under the name “LLM Siri” for a long time, was planned to be introduced in March 2025. However, the launch date was not met. After the delays, Apple made a significant management change to give the project a new direction.

Mike Rockwell, who was the head of the Vision Pro team, was appointed as the leader responsible for coordinating Siri and AI initiatives. This change was made because CEO Tim Cook was unhappy with the performance of previous leader John Giannandrea.

Rockwell’s team conducted extensive tests comparing Apple’s own language model to other models on the market. In the evaluations, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini AI system and Anthropic’s Claude model were analyzed.

According to the latest information, the Claude model showed the best performance in the tests. It is stated that this result may have a decisive effect on which artificial intelligence provider Apple will deepen in the future. On the other hand, Apple is currently working with OpenAI under the name Apple Intelligence.

Apple did not present Siri’s next-generation artificial intelligence features to the public at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) it organized in 2025. The company’s marketing chief Greg Joswiak announced that the technology under development did not yet meet Apple’s quality standards. Craig Federighi, vice president of the software division, stated that the major innovations expected in Siri will not come before 2026.
