Apple is taking steps to increase its share of the PC industry. It plans to unveil the first Macs with the M3 chip as early as October. It is claimed that this launch could take place right after the iPhone 15 event.

M3-powered iMac, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro could arrive in October

Apple’s M3 processor-based Mac models will debut in October, according to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman. Apple is said to be planning another product launch after the iPhone event in September, focusing on the introduction of a new Mac range.

The MacBook Pro and Mac Studio are unlikely to be launched in October. However, the next iMac, 13-inch MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro are expected to be the first models to feature the M3 chip.

Back in March, we reported that Apple was developing two new iMac models using the M3 processor. The M3 chip will offer a significant boost in CPU and GPU performance compared to the M2 series. Apple is not working on a major core update and will use TSMC’s 3nm process.

A recent detail stated that Apple is working on 32-40 inch iMac models. However, it should be noted that this model will not arrive until late 2024 at the earliest.

For now, the 24-inch iMac with the M1 processor is the only all-in-one computer Apple sells. The current model with the M1 chip was released in April 2021, and Gurman expects the updated model with the M3 chip to be introduced in October.
