Apple often succeeds in winning over users’ hearts with its announced features and innovations. Introduced in recent years, the Find My feature allows users to track and locate their devices such as iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and Apple Watch in real-time. Now, an Apple Watch lost for over a year in the ocean has been found and, unbelievably, it’s still working. Here are the details…
Apple Watch was found thanks to Find My support
A person who had purchased an Apple Watch as a birthday gift for their son in June 2022 lost the device while diving in the Caribbean. They mentioned that despite its certification to withstand depths of up to 50 meters, they did not remove the Watch from their wrist during dives. Upon returning from a dive, they realized the Watch was missing from their wrist and used Apple’s Find My feature to mark it as lost.
Over a year and a half later, someone from the Caribbean sent a voicemail confirming they had found the Watch using Find My. Remarkably, the Watch was still functional and displayed the owner’s phone number on the screen. After being returned to its owner in California, the Watch’s functionality was confirmed.
Apple’s Find My feature can send signals to other Apple devices nearby, even when the device is offline. Therefore, it’s recommended to keep this feature enabled. What are your thoughts on this situation? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
